SPECIAL SERVICES

Bride And Groom Walking

Weddings

Marriage is an institution established by God in creation and celebrates God joining a man and a woman as husband and wife to become one in the eyes of the Lord. Couples wishing to be married in either Calvary Church or St George’s Church are required to meet with a priest for pre-marital counseling, a requirement of the Episcopal Church’s canon law. Once you have thoroughly read our marriage policies below, you may contact info@calstg.org to schedule your wedding.

Baptisms

Whether you are considering Baptism for yourself or having your child baptized, we would be glad to walk with you. At Calvary-St. George’s, we believe Baptism is first and foremost about the grace of God given to us in Christ. Throughout Scripture, God carries his people safely through the waters: from death into life, from slavery into freedom, and from the old creation into the new. In Baptism, the Father unites us to the Son by the Spirit. We are washed and forgiven, brought into Christ’s Body, the Church, and given his Spirit. We are also welcomed to his Table, where Christ continues to give himself to us in Holy Communion. Baptism is not a reward for having everything figured out. Before we can prove ourselves, improve ourselves, or even fully understand what God is doing, God makes his promises to us and calls us his own. If you are interested in being baptized or having your child baptized, please contact us at info@calstg.org. We ordinarily celebrate baptisms on All Saints’ Day, the First Sunday after the Epiphany, at the Easter Vigil, and on Pentecost; however, we are also happy to be flexible when another time would be more appropriate.
