Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. -James 5:13-16
We can be certain that God hears our prayers. Our Heavenly Father asks us to pray, and He even knows what we need before we ask. God uses ordinary people to pray for the sick, and it is through prayer that we have the privilege to connect our wounds to the wounds of Christ. C.H. Spurgeon says, “The wounds of Christ are His glories, they are His jewels and His precious things”.
“He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.” -1 Peter 2:24
It is not the method of healing prayer that produces healing and restoration; it is the message – God has come to save us. This message of healing is the Gospel and it is the work of Christ alone that heals us from the ailments of our sin. The bleeding charity of Christ on a cross is the heartbeat of our faith.
Healing Prayer and anointing is offered at our Sunday mornings services (10am & 11am) and every Thursday at the Healing Service (12:10 at Calvary Church). If you are unable to attend one of these prayer times, feel free to send us a prayer request using the form to the right > > >
The members of our prayer team will pray for you in a timely and confidential manner.
